Ahead of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, Jammu and Kashmir Police took decisive action on Tuesday by conducting extensive long-range patrols and an anti-terror mock drill in Samba district. This initiative aims to assess operational readiness and bolster security measures across the region, as confirmed by a police official.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police led the long-range patrol, which spanned nearly 20 kilometers from Jatwal to Lala Chak along the crucial Jammu-Pathankot national highway. The patrol was a proactive step to ensure a secure environment during the festive period.
Following the patrol, the police conducted a mock drill at the border police post in Lala Chak to evaluate the response of personnel in a simulated terror attack scenario. The exercise involved a scenario where two simulated terrorists executed an attack on a designated establishment, testing the response capabilities of the police.
In response to the mock attack, the SOG personnel swiftly established a cordon around the area and neutralized the simulated threat with efficiency. The drill aimed not only to test the immediate response mechanism but also to enhance the coordination and tactical preparedness of the personnel involved.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Anuj Kumar, underscored the police’s unwavering commitment to maintaining robust security arrangements. Kumar emphasized the importance of ensuring public safety, particularly in light of the heightened threats surrounding the Independence Day celebrations.
This operational readiness reflects the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s proactive approach to enhancing security protocols while reaffirming their dedication to safeguarding the community during significant national events. Continuous efforts, such as these, play a crucial role in strengthening public confidence in law enforcement capabilities.
