Three New Common Service Centres Established in Keran

In a significant move to enhance last-mile service delivery, the District Administration Kupwara established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the remote Block Keran today. This initiative aims to improve accessibility to government schemes and digital services for residents in these border areas.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara virtually inaugurated these CSCs, interacting with Village Level Entrepreneurs involved in operating the centres. The CSCs are now operational in the Gram Panchayats of Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo, providing residents with essential services right at their doorstep.

The establishment of these Common Service Centres follows a thorough ground-level assessment that identified existing service gaps in the region. This initiative received strong support from CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, empowering the district to take significant strides towards digital inclusivity.

These newly launched Common Service Centres will facilitate access to a wide range of e-governance services. Residents can utilize essential government services, avail social welfare schemes, and access financial inclusion services, healthcare, and agriculture information, along with various B2C offerings. This comprehensive service portfolio significantly aims to bridge the digital literacy gap prevalent in these remote areas.

This step aligns with the broader vision of holistic development for border villages, drastically reducing the need for locals to travel long distances for basic services. By bringing governance closer to the residents, the initiative empowers communities to engage with government initiatives more effectively.

Local residents have expressed gratitude towards the District Administration for extending digital services to their border regions. The administration reiterated its commitment to the slogan “Governance at the Doorstep,” promising ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery throughout the remote areas of the district.
