Smriti Mandhana made history at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday by surpassing Mithali Raj to become the leading run-getter in Women’s One Day Internationals and T20s. With a total of 10,880 runs across all formats, Mandhana expressed disbelief at achieving such a remarkable milestone.
Mandhana had played a significant portion of her career under Mithali’s captaincy and looked up to the legendary cricketer as a role model. She reflected on this emotional moment, stating, “I definitely never imagined to do that. But I’m happy that there are two Indians at the top.”
